Covid-19 Impact, Economic Survey, GDP Growth, Rajasthan, Sectoral Analysis
Abstract
This study analyses the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Rajasthan, focusing on different sectors of the economy before and after the Covid-19 pandemic. The objectives of the research are to assess the current status of GDP growth in Rajasthan, analyse the trends in sectoral growth, and evaluate the government’s efforts in promoting sectoral development. Secondary data, primarily sourced from the Economic Survey of Rajasthan, Census of India 2011, and various departmental reports, were utilized for the analysis. The study employed paired ttests using R Studio to assess the sector-wise shares in the Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) and Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Rajasthan. Key findings reveal that the pandemic significantly impacted sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing, leading to a slowdown in growth. However, the government’s targeted interventions, including policy initiatives and financial support for agriculture, small-scale industries, and digital infrastructure, played a crucial role in mitigating the economic fallout. The analysis suggests that post-Covid, certain sectors such as information technology and renewable energy have shown significant recovery and growth. The paper concludes by recommending continued government support and sector-specific strategies to foster long-term economic development in Rajasthan.
